Hi TGs,
Happy Thursday!
It's been so cold and miserable and normally I would be really upset about this except it's given me the opportunity to catch up on some reading. Seriously, there's nothing better than getting all warm and cosy on the lounge, under a warm blanket with a mug of hot chocolate in one hand and a great book in the other.
Not only is it really fun, being immersed in a whole different world while you read, but it's also helped me because as a writer for TG I need to be really creative and the best place to get inspired is from other writers. It's also really helpful to enjoy reading because as a writer I have to do a great deal of reading for my job too. So I've compiled a list of my fave books that I liked to read when I was TG-age.
Charlotte's Web
This book is sooo amazing, I always dreamt of having my own little piggy and spider friends. I just thought Charlotte was so magical and smart unlike the common spiders you would normally come across.
The Witches
I LOVED this book! It's funny, has loads of twists and turns and overall has a great story line about witches, who don't actually dress in black pointy hats but dress normal and have a secret mission to destroy children. Sounds scary but it's actually quite tame as far as spooky stories go.
Bridge to Terabithia
When I was little I was a bit of a dreamer and one of my many daydreams consisted of me and my bestie going on adventures to our own little secret hideaway, which is probably why I loved Bridge To Terabithia so much. Just as a spoiler, you may need tissues cause there is a sad part to this book.
What are your fave books TGs? Do you follow TG's book club in the mag?
Xoxo
Alex
