Advice For Back-to-School Bad Days...

Had a misunderstanding? Check our tips!

School is a super fun place to be and hang out with your BFFs. But sometimes totes awks things can happen. Read on for some handy hints on how to deal when things go wrong. (Hey, TGs if it’s other advice you’re after, or the sitch is more serious, always remember to talk to an adult – your parents or a teacher. They’re there to help!)

Scenario 1: You accidentally took home the wrong bag from school. Totally embarrassing! The next day, the girl who owns it is really upset because she thought she’d lost it. What do you do?

TG’s Tip: Mistakes happen and you didn’t mean to upset her. The next day, return the bag and apologise, explaining that the bag looks exactly like yours and you’re really sorry for the mix up. You never know, you could get talking and make a new friend!

Scenario 2: You were standing with a group of peeps who were talking about someone else at school. Then that person hears and gets upset. What do you do?

TG’s Tip:
Honesty is always the best policy – go talk to them and apologise that you were a part of the convo. It’s never nice to hear something being said about yourself – especially behind your back! Take care about what you say and what you hear people saying in the future.

Scenario 3: Someone’s playing handball and the ball goes flying off and whacks you right in the face! They come over to apologise to you, but it really hurts and now everyone’s laughing at you! What do you do?

TG’s Tip:
Laughing at yourself can be really hard to do, but sometimes - as much as it might hurt - you have to laugh it off and make a joke! You’ll feel better heaps faster.

Scenario 4: You’ve noticed that one of the girls you know at school is always getting excluded from games at lunchtime and is eating alone. What do you do?

TG’s Tip:
Feeling left out is totes not fun! Next time you see her, invite her to sit with you, or make a point of choosing her for your sports team when you and your BFFs start a new game next lunchtime.

How would you deal with these situations TGs? Tell us in the comments below!
