We chatted to Tan, the hero of the Truly Tan books (by Jen Storer) about her truly mysterious (and awesome!) life. Tan then wrote us an awesome short story. This girl is talented!
What’s a usual day like for you?
Everything about me is unusual and mysterious. It is not possible to answer this question properly. The only thing I do every single day is…snoop.
What do you do in your spare time?
Is this a trick question? You try running a world class International Spy Ring from a tree house in the middle of nowhere and then tell me about your spare time. There is none. Oh, and did I mention I’m in grade four? Enough said.
What bad habits do you have?
My big sister, Emerald, says I am an annoying, stickybeak Oompa Loompa. But she has a bad habit of being rude and insulting.
What’s the best thing about being you?
I have the mind of a Great Detective. Next question, please.
What’s your most annoying habit?
It could be that I pester people by asking them the same question over and over. See question three.
Tan's awesome short story:
I was home alone when I heard a noise. A creepy, soft, boof, boof, boof. I crept down the hall, looking. Boof, boof, boof. My heart was boof-boofing too. Was it a ghostly ghost? A night spook in a black cape? I kept creeping along. It was coming from my sister, Amber’s, room. I held my breath. I opened the door slowly… A Doritos bag was shuffling round the room. It was bumping into walls. It couldn’t see a thing. I pounced on it and it yelped. Doodad was inside. That ninny Choodle dog was stuck inside a Doritos bag.
