Step 2:
Separate the piece of hair into three sections, then pull one end of the ribbon into one of them and the other end into another. Plait these three strands all the way down and tie off with a clear hairtie.
No crimper? Try plaiting wet hair and taking it out when dry for a similar look.

Ribbon Plaits
Step 1: Take a 5cm x 5cm section of hair at the front of your head and tie tight with a clear elastic. Take a piece of ribbon and tie it in a knot above the elastic, letting the ends hang loose. The elastic will keep the ribbon in place.
Step 2:
Take small sections of the pony and use a crimping iron to crimp them. Start at the base of the pony and hold the iron tightly onto the hair for around five seconds, releasing then moving down so it's all crimped.
Step 3:
Repeat on the other side, then gather the top half of all your hair into a half pony (including plaits!) and tie off. Let the ribbon ends run all the way to the end of your hair and cut the rest of the ribbon off.
Crimped Pony Step 1:
Brush hair up into a high ponytail and secure with a clear elastic. The pony should sit at the crown of your head (so basically, if you drew a line with two fingers from the top of your ears upwards, they would meet!). Then, take a small piece of the pony and wrap around the hair tie, sticking a bobby pin through the end and into the ponytail base to secure it.
