Got your March issue handy? If you have, you’ll have seen the suuuuper cute stuff we put in just for you. There’s usually some behind-the-scenes stuff that we don’t even manage to fit into TGHQ, so here’s a bit of it right now! This post will be like the extras that come on your DVD…

 

There’s a story about the TG team living their cutest dreams. If you haven’t seen it yet, I won’t spoil the surprise of exactly who on the team got to meet a llama for the story, but I got to meet him behind the scenes! Here he is with me!

His name is Cadbury and he is from Kindifarm, a mobile animal farm. That person whose arm you can see is his handler and BFF, Noeline.

For the story, I DID get to live out my own cute dream, but you will have to pick up the mag to find out what that was!

 

Another thing that happened for March’s mag was the team got to hang out with YouTube Kids superstar Charli of Charli’s Crafty Kitchen. She and her sister Ashlee came and visited TGHQ and they loved all the crazy stuff I keep on my desk. We took some happy snaps with my special pink Barbie phone case – it’s like a big mirror and it’s like having a built-in selfie-stick. Here we are having the super fun times… 

 

Did you know that I got to shoot Charli’s Penguin Pops for the mag? I shoot all the food in a photo studio (and then I EAT ALL THE FOOD, muahahaha). The super adorbs penguins were so cute that even the photographer loved them! If you can see the pic, take a close look. There’s a secret about the ice, can you guess what it might be?

Do you love cats as much as I do? IDK if that’s possible coz I love them a LOT. 

That’s why when two of my friends told me about this game that involves collecting cats, I knew they were onto something. And since then, I’ve been obsessed! I spend so much time caring for these virtual cats and worrying that they have enough food! Hahaha!

 

 

The game is called Neko Atsume, which is Japanese for ‘Kitty Collector’. DW, it’s in English. It’s also free to download, free to play and other than the initial download, doesn’t use any data. Score!

 

I’m not the most massive gamer ever so this game suits me perfectly. It’s actually all about being patient and getting rewarded with magical amounts of cuteness! You get a yard and you put out food and toys, then wait for tiny, sweet cats to appear. When they do, you can take pictures of them for your special album and learn about their personalities. If they like their time in your yard, they’ll leave you sardines and you use these sardines to get MORE food for them and even cooler toys.

Basically, it’s like having a Tamagotchi with lots and lots of fun inside, and no pooing! Or like collecting Pokemon with no fighting or evolving!

 

As a super dedicated player of Neko Atsume, I have some secret goss to share to help you play AWESOMELY.

 

• Occasionally, a chubby white cat called Tubbs will turn up and eat all your food! Don’t get mad and chase him away by refilling the bowl when he’s still there. If you let him leave on his own, you will a bigger reward from him.
  
  
• It’s worth it to save your gold sardines to eventually buy the extension so you can get cats in your house as well as your yard – you will build up fish much faster and see way more sweet kitties! All you have to do is be patient (and maybe use the fish exchange – 500 silver sardines can be traded for 10 gold).
  
  
• Want to see a rare cat and snap a pic of him or her? Often, to get a rare cat, you need to put out both a premium item and special food but it’s not impossible to get rare cats with normal items like the baseball and the pyramid tent.
  
  
• The elusive Peaches is SO hard to get a good photo of. Don’t forget to check your yard carefully for her unique heart-shaped patch – she might be hiding!

Hi Natalie!

The good thing about the game is you don't have to be a skilful gamer or anything, really it's more about being patient. They are super, super cute cats. I think in Japan you can get plushies of them and literally I would go over there right now if I could. To expand your yard, you need to save your gold fish up (yes, you really need HEAPS of them, 180 fish from memory). Then you press the remodel button. Be careful when you do this because if you have cats in your yard, they will disappear and you'll need to set out all the toys again. But you'll have more space and you'll be able to attract lots more kitties! Exciting!!

Da da, da-da-da DA DA, da-da-da DA DA, dun dun dun DUNNNN. I’ve been singing the Star Wars song non-stop since I went to the Sydney premiere of The Force Awakens last night. I even did it in my sleep!

 

Because, OMTG, is this movie EPIC! I should say early on it has an M rating, which means it’s only suitable for older TGs.

I went to the premiere with TG’s Erin, who makes the very website you are looking at right now. First thing we saw? A Stormtrooper DJ! Coolest!

 

 

By the way, when I saw him without his helmet, he was a bit of a sweaty mess. Being a Stormtrooper is hard.

 

We also saw amazing models from the movie, like srsly bad dude Kylo Ren and yep, another Stormtrooper.

 

This little guy is BB-8 the droid and what a cutie he is! In the movie, it’s amazing how expressive he is – he can be happy, sad, funny and all sorts of other feels too.

Here I am with Erin again and I’ve got my Google Cardboard, the Kylo Ren version (coz I think the Dark Side is cool). I guess it’s a kind of box you put on your face and you see the world like you’re in a video game! It works through your phone and an app.

 

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MOVIE? Well, I’d never wanna spoil it for you, but there’s a new girl character you should know about – her name is Rey, she’s played by Daisy Ridley and, safe to say, she will be your new fave. She is the coolest! She is unstoppable. She also rocks a rad looped ponytail that I’m going to teach you how to do so stay tuned…

OMTG there are SO MANY THINGS TO GET EXCITED ABOUT AT THE MOMENT. So many that I think my caps lock key got stuck, hahaha. At the moment I am excited about the current issue of TG, our December ish. Have you watched the video where the TG team spills our most embarrassing moments? If not, go right here… Maria’s story espesh made me ROFL. 

 

I’m also excited about the movies that come out at the end of the year so we can go hang with the fam in a cool dark cinema. In particular, I’m into Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie. When I was way, way little (so little that I don’t even remember exactly how old I was), the first movie I ever saw in a cinema was a Snoopy movie. Except it was a pretty old-school cartoon and the one that’s out this year is 3D! 

 

I’ve got some rad ‘did-you-know?’ facts about Charlie Brown and his best pal Snoopy for you. In case you need some background, this movie is based on some reeeealllly long-running comic strips called Peanuts that were printed in newspapers (ask your parents if they remember reading them, they probably do!)

 

1.     The first Peanuts comic strip came out on October 2, 1950. So that’s… 65 years ago!! 

2.     The artist who drew all these characters, Charles Schulz, drew 17,897 of these comic strips in his lifetime. SO MANY! That’s why Peanuts is sometimes called the longest story ever told by one human being. 

3.     Peanuts’ hero, Charlie Brown, is kinda really, really bad at sports (cheer up, mate, they are def not my thing either). In all the strips Charles Schulz ever drew, Charlie Brown never manages to successfully kick a football. Unlucky!

4.     Charles wanted to call ‘Snoopy’ something else – Sniffy! 

5.     And he also didn’t like calling his series ‘Peanuts’ – he really wanted to call it ‘Li’l Folks’ instead.

Hope your Halloween was boo-tiful. Hahaha! Mine sure was. I went to an extra-special screening of Hotel Transylvania 2.

 

Here are three things that made this screening so-good-it’s-scary:

 

1. This scream-tastic flick is not out until 26 November. I looooove getting to see stuff early so I can sneak you guys some top-secret goss.

 

2. Coz it was Halloween, there was a lolly buffet! We each got an orange trick-or-treat bag and then we got to stuff them full of chocolates, lollipops, fruit candies and these weird-but-cool things that started out as fairyfloss and then turned into bubblegum!

 

3. I got to meet my faves from the movie! Frankenstein’s Monster was there (he is HUGE IRL) and so was Drac and that mummy, too. I was super excited to get a picture with Mavis, Drac’s vampire daughter who is voiced by superstar Selena Gomez.

 

OK, I said I would bring you some secret goss! Here you go…

 

1. The first two movies have made something like $958 million worldwide so while no third movie has been confirmed, it seems like it def COULD happen.
2. Peeps behind the flick say this installment is about being cool with change.
3. Awesome girl group Fifth Harmony are the chicks behind the so-catchy tune ‘I’m in love with a monster’ that plays in the film.
4. Funny dude Adam Sandler voices Drac and his IRL daughter, Sadie Sandler, lends her own voice to a character in the movie, a little werewolf girl called Winnie.

 

NOT going to give you any spoilers but I will say that my surprise favourite character in the movie is… Blobby! He’s the cutest pile of goo ever seen on screen. Are you ready for that jelly? YOU BETTER BE.

Hey TGs,

If I said, “a whole new world”, would you imagine a magic carpet ride, a beautiful, dark-haired princess with a tiger and big adventures? I sure hope so!

 

Did you know that Disney fave Aladdin was released more than 20 years ago?! OMTG, that’s waaaaay before you guys were born. But if you haven’t seen it, you so need to. I’ll wait here while you go see it.

 

*Waits*

 

OK, good, now you’re up to speed, I’ll tell you some goss – Aladdin as a stage show is coming to Sydney! Yep, with a live-action genie and Aladdin the street urchin and a magic carpet and everything!

 

This will be the first place in Australia where the musical will show, down at the Capitol Theatre where some of you might have gone to see the stage version of The Lion King.

 

This, by the way, has literally just been announced (15 October). A Disney boss guy, Thomas Schumacher, flew out to tell us all how excited he was.

He shared some cool goss about Aladdin with me:

1. The musical will have all five songs from the movie PLUS three secret songs that were cut from it. One of them is called Proud of Your Boy.

2. Robin Williams, the super genius funnyman who voiced the Genie, would sometimes riff (that means like spin off in crazy directions while in character) and say cray cray cool, hilarious stuff. Someone had to keep editing these riffs right down from, oh, 15 minutes or so to just a bite-sized Genie moment.

3. The show, like I mentioned, will have a flying carpet. The secret of getting the carpet to fly is a 100-year-old technique. I asked Thomas to explain it to me, but he said he wouldn’t – because the joy of magic is in how much fun it is to see.

 

I got to see a SUPER COOL taste of Aladdin as a stage show and the costumes and dancing are out of this world. They are insanely sparkly – like, one pair of pants for a dude in one of the musical numbers has 1,428 crystals on it.

OK, like ~everyone~ else, I have Disney Descendants fever! Just in case you missed it, TG’s Mel got to go to the premiere in LA, OMTG, how cool is that?

 

Since we’re all about Descendants star Dove Cameron at TGHQ (you too? Thought so!), here’s 10 facts you might not know about the lovely Dove.

 

1. Her real name is Chloe Celeste Hosterman.

2. Her teddy bear, Stanley, comes with her to set.

3. She’s a Directioner, she thinks they’re talented guys.

4. She adores doughnuts. Like, a LOT.

5. She also enjoys playing Mario Kart (what’s not to love?!)

6. She would love to visit Brazil

7. Her go-to outfit on a lazy day is jeans, a T-shirt and a messy ponytail or messy pigtails.

8. She would love to do a second Descendants flick.

9. Her fave Disney classic is The Little Mermaid, and, of its newer flicks, Frozen and Tangled.

Hope you’re enjoying your new issue of the mag. Since it’s music-themed, I thought I’d share some goss about one of TG’s fave ever singers, Ariana Grande…

1.     She never gets sick of playing Monopoly, even though it’s a long game.

2.     She used to love wearing Halloween masks around the house so much her mum got kinda spooked.

3.     A huge hockey fan, she used to go to every game of the Florida Panthers, but – eek – kept getting hit with hockey pucks.

4.     Ari often wears hair extensions.

5.     She’s obsessed with the ocean and sea creatures.

6.     She loooooves the Harry Potter books. Hey, us too.

7.     Her vocal range spans four octaves (so does Beyonce’s).

So anyone who knows me knows I looooove animals. Like literally any kind of animal. If I see one, I excitedly run up and try to meet and greet it. This kind of backfired one day when the animal in question was a wildcat! Do not try that!

 

Anyways, since I love animals and I love goss, I thought I’d share some celebrity animal goss with you:

 

Buddy Lovato, Demi Lovato’s dog

Buddy is super famey – he’s got, like, more than 15,000 fans! One look at his face and you will understand why.

Sirius Black, Ariana Grande’s dog

Ari’s got literally heaps of pets, but so-cute Sirius (yes, named after the Harry Potter character) gets to go on tour with Ari and stay in hotels with her! It’s a dog’s life!

Teddy Edwards, Perrie Edwards’ pup

Um, too cute to handle or what? Teddy here actually is so teensy that when he gets cold, he wears a weeny jumper made of Zayn’s sock! OMTG!

Sheila Michele, Lea Michele’s cat

Ummm, this is gonna sound kinda kooky, but Lea’s cat Sheila is about to partake in a celebrity cat wedding! Reports say Sheila the cat is going to “marry” Lea’s Glee costar Chris Colfer's cat, Brian. LOL, those will be super cute wedding pics.

If there's one thing I love, it's a new movie and I've been stoked about Inside Out for aaaages. And it's finally here!

 

I got to see this flick with my pals from TG's brother mag K-Zone at a spesh screening just for media and I give it five heart-eyes emojis, lol. I mean, Disney Pixar is a studio that has brought us robots in love, cooking rats and talking cars. How amazing is it that their most recent film takes place in a girl's head? It's like they're looking inside YOUR head, because the hero, Riley, is 11 years old. Yes, she's basically a TG, and the movie is all about how her feelings control what happens in her life. Each of her feelings is a character - crazy, huh?

 

It's heaps cool how my fellow TGs Laura and Erin got to actually go see Amy Poehler, the voice of Joy.

 

Want to know more about Amy and her castmates? Of course you do. Here's some goss about the actors who do voices in Inside Out.

1. Amy Poehler, who, as I said, voices Joy who is like the hero of Inside Out, is a pretty cool lady. Besides being a massively famous comedienne, Amy has a community online called Amy Poehler's Smart Girls. Its message? 'Change the world by being yourself.' Good, eh?

2. Mindy Kaling, another comedienne, voices Disgust. She's so hilar that she's had her very own TV show and she once dressed up as Marge Simpson, yep, huge blue hair included.

3. Bill Hader voices Fear, the scaredy-cat who keeps Riley safe from harm. Bill once worked as an assistant to Arnold Schwarzenegger, the guy you know as the Terminator.

4. Phyllis Smith voices Sadness, who can be kind of a downer, but is really cute and sweet. For someone who sounds so, well, sad, it's a surprise that Phyllis used to be a cheerleader!

5. Lewis Black voices Anger, the guy with all the rage. He's made a name for being an angry sort of comedian. His parents are aged 96 and 97, woah!

Did you hear a massive SQUEE earlier this week? Yeah, that was me when I found out that a Hello Kitty diner was coming to Australia. Specifically to Sydney, which is where I live. So I know where I’m getting all my food from now on, lol.

 

I am a super fangirl when it comes to Hello Kitty – you should see all the different products I have! You probably know she’s a character who looks like a cute little cat in overalls and that she comes from Japan. But I bet there’s some stuff you didn’t know, so I’m going to spill some Hello Kitty secrets right here, right now…

  

1. She’s not a cat, she’s a girl. Yep, it’s true. The company that invented her, Sanrio, has always said this, but people were all like, "Srsly, what? Mind has been blown!” last year when they found out. This fact made news around the world. Did you know she’s not really a kitty cat? If you did, you are for reals smarter than some grown ups who didn’t…

2. Which brings me to… not being a cat herself, she nonetheless HAS a cat. Her pet’s name is Charmy Kitty, who looks like Hello Kitty, only more actual-real-life cat-like. Confused? Don’t worry, it's totes confusing.

3. Hello Kitty is a twin. That twin sis, Mimmy, looks just like her, but wears a yellow bow and on the opposite ear to Hello Kitty so you can tell them apart.

4. If you’re into Hello Kitty, you can go to PuroLand, a theme park in Japan, or to Hello Kitty Park in China. Or you can go flying in the Hello Kitty jet, which flies to and from Taipei. OMTG, she has – or like, is – a jet too! 

5. While the company that dreamt up Hello Kitty is from Japan, Hello Kitty herself is from… England!

6. Do you know the reason Hello Kitty has no mouth? Sanrio says it’s because she ‘speaks from the heart’.

7. She’s really small – her height is described as the same as “five apples”. Yep, you measure her with fruit. Cute?!

8. Her celebrity fans include Katy Perry and Ariana Grande.

Another day, another awesome film premiere! If you’re into comic books and the Marvel universe, you probs know about The Avengers: Age of Ultron, a follow-up to 2012 flick The Avengers. In this movie, a seriously evil dude wants to wipe out the human race, so your fave heroes assemble to save the day. And, OMTG, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is out this week! (April 23). If you’re an older TG and super into superheroes it's for you! 

 

The dress code for this event was ‘Ready to Assemble’, but, sadly, I don’t have an incredible Hulk costume (but how awesome would that be?) Or Captain America for that matter, or anyone, so I tried to channel The Black Widow instead.

 

At the event at Hoyts’ Imax theatre in Sydney, I got to do heaps of cool stuff. Here I am with Iron Man. Pretty amazeballs, don’t you think?

After hanging with my old mate Tony Stark, I had a go of lifting Thor’s magic hammer. This was hard! After a lot of effort, I got the hammer free, but was so surprised that I accidentally hit myself in the leg with it! Lol, I kind of dented myself, but it was totes worth it.

When I headed off, triumphant (and a bit sore), who should I run into but Thor himself (kind of!). In the movie, Thor is played by Aussie Chris Hemsworth. He looks like this.

“Claire, why are you making that weird face?” you might ask. Well, TGs, that is my battle face. You like?

So on the weekend I heard about this amaze sale. I love to shop. And I love a bargain, so I went into the city to check it out. Wanna know what I scored for just $2.40? Read on…

 

Ta-da! My very own Original Barbie Doll. 

Original Barbie Dolls were released in 1959 and looked just like this. I’m into her gold earrings and awesome curly fringe! They’re pretty rare – one even sold for a massive $27,450 – but 56 years later, Mattel has re-released the original doll, complete with black and white swimmers. For. The. Original. Price. Only $3 at Myer. How crazy is that? It’s like Tooth Fairy money.

 

When I heard this totes special, limited-edition Barbie was coming to town, I got outta bed heaps early and lined up at Myer. Then, with a hundred other Barbie fans, I dashed up a bunch of escalators and nabbed a bargain Barbie. It was even cheaper than I expected coz there was a 20 per cent off sale! There were only 500 of these dolls released in Australia at the mad discount but if you’re heaps keen for your own spesh Barbie, don’t worry, you can start saving cause they’re still on shelves for $44.95. 

So, now I’ve told you TGs all about my amaze purchase, I thought I’d share five Barbie secrets with you…

 

1. Did you know Barbie has a middle name? It’s Millicent.
2. Barbie’s had more than 150 careers! Phew, that’s heaps!
3. Barbie has run for president six times! But she’s not yet been successful. Better luck next time, Barbie.
4. Barbie’s first pet was a horse called Dancer.
5. Back in 1965, Barbie travelled into space! She’s such a pioneer.

Last night, a pumpkin coach turned up at my place and took me to Cinderella’s movie premiere! Lol, no, not quite. I got on the train, but I did actually get to go to a special screening of the latest Disney blockbuster and the super cool party held to celebrate. Here are the top five things about the premiere…

 

1. Cate Blanchett was there! This Aussie actor plays Ella’s wicked stepmother in the movie. In real life, she is tall. So tall.

2. The State Theatre in Sydney was super glam. It was like a dream! Ladies in beautiful gowns were handing out free tiaras to all the girls and women. There was a couple of special photo opportunities: a wall of low mirrors so you could take shoe selfies – these are my heaps sparkly silver glitter heels – and some royal footmen who would let you try on a glass slipper!

3. We got to see the Cinderella range of Target gear! So if you want to dress up like Cinderella and twirl around, you totally can.

4. We got to watch Frozen Fever! This is a very sweet and charming short movie about Elsa trying to give Anna the perfect birthday. It’ll get you excited for Frozen 2 for sure.

5. The film was ah-mazing! Without wanting to spoil it for you, I can def say it was incredibly gorgeous to look at, with some lol-worthy moments and the most astonishing pair of glass shoes ever.
