
Eat on special occasions!
Makes 8 What you need:
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 200g unsalted butter, chopped
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup white choc bits
- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 125g pack Caramello eggs (or caramel filled chocolate)
- Icing sugar mixture, to dust
- Double cream, to serve
What to do:
- Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius.
- Grease and line a 17 x 33cm slice pan with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above pan edges.
- Place chocolate and butter in a large heat-proof bowl. With an adult's help, sit the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Using a wooden spoon, stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stand for 10 minutes.
- Stir in cocoa powder, sugar, eggs and white choc bits to cooled chocolate mixture. Sift over flour. Stir to combine. Pour into prepared pan. Arrange Caramello eggs or choccies on top.
- Ask an adult to help you put the pan in the oven. Bake for 40 minutes or until cooks. Allow to cool in pan.
- Dust with icing sugar and cut into slices. Serve with double cream.
