Hi Ash! What inspired your new series Tennis Camp Diaries, and how is it different from your Little Ash series?
A: Ash is a little bit older in this series and ready for new adventures. The books are inspired by stories and experiences I had as a kid, with a few twists and turns. One big difference with this series is the format of the books – it is written as a diary which I love. My niece Lucy is eight years old now and absolutely loves diary style books - so far she has given me good feedback!
Aww! What were your favourite stories or books as a kid?
A: I loved reading when I was young, my sisters and I always had a book in our hands. Morris Gleitzman’s books, especially the Once series, were my favourite. I also loved the Hairy Maclary series and The Rainbow Serpent.
What advice would you give to TGs who might be feeling stressed by an upcoming test or competition?
A: Tennis is a game and should be fun! Make sure you are always enjoying it, regardless of the result.
Who would you like to team up with for a fun Doubles match?
A: I can’t go past my good friend and long-time doubles partner Casey Dellacqua. We have so much fun on the court, she is always my first choice.
