The Best School Swimming Carnival!

by Jessie | Mar 04, 2016

Hi TGs,

You know one of the things I LOVE about Term 1 at school?? The school swimming carnival!! It’s just soooo much fun to get everyone together and support your BFFs, and to practice swimming!

My school sporting house’s colour is bright BLUE so we ALL wore blue!! I’m not the best at swimming, but I always give it a go anyway for participation points, but I just get SUPER excited cheering on my teammates too!

Every year we have a TOTALLY different theme for our house, and this time we decided to embrace the water and go for Under The Sea!! I wore a top with a bubbles print on it – it was AWESOME! AND one of the house captains even wore a dolphin ONESIE! It was totes adorable! Everyone was throwing around inflatable rings throughout the day, so we all had a go at wearing them!

So I HAVE to tell you what happened when I was doing the relay race. The relay race is where you have four members of your team, and each person does a lap of the pool – the first team to do all four laps wins!!

SO when it was my turn to do the lap, I ACCIDENTALLY dived in waaaay too early and swam half of the pool before I realized! LOL! My team members were shouting at me to come back so I quickly swum back and had to do the lap AGAIN!! It was totes EMBARRASSING, but my teachers were so proud of me for being a good sport that our team got a special award for sportsmanship! Woohoo!

Have you guys had a swimming carnival this year? Tell me about your fave part in the comments below!

I had my swimming carnival a couple weeks ago. It was pouring but I still had a go and ended up coming 2nd in freestyle. I was so happy :)

My favourite part was going in the big pool at the swimming carnival.

I had a blast. I wore white (our house colour), made plastic bag pom poms-suitable for the pool- and also got together all the girls in our class in our house to go crazy with support. I love swimming + supporting!

I had mine a few weeks ago and I went in two races: backstroke relay and freestyle relay. It rained the whole day but, luckily I brought my MAJORLY OVERSIZED raincoat and I shared it with my friends.

    Hi Jessie,
I had a broken finger for my school's swimming carnival :( but my sister was swimming, so I went along anyway. And guess what? I got to be the paparazzi! It was so fun, I got to take photos of all my school friends diving into the pool, and I got some awesome group photos. My photos were even uploaded to my school's photo gallery!
I guess it proves you don't have to be swimming at a swimming carnival to have fun!

OMTG, I just read this blog, and I was shocked! I thought only our school had the swimming carnival! I actually thought you were in my school, LOL! But, we had it in early Feb, and we had so much fun! Me and my two friends, that were quite bossy, but I didn't mind, as it was meant to be a Fabilis Day! We had so many fun events that I signed up for, and i loved the feeling when my body splashed in the cold water! In the end, we also had a relay, where we had a team of four and we had to swim a lap each. It was very deep water, and I was terrified! I was so frightened that i ended up not going in the pool :( I felt very guilty when one of my team members had to go twice, so i cheered extra loudly. We were the only girls team so we got a ribbon! One of the team members who was quite mean gave my ribbon to the girl who swam twice! :(. I felt very devastated but one of the judges came up to me and gave me a special ribbon for good sportsmanship! In the end, it was an AMAZING day! xox Parneer
