DIY Pinata: What You Need (Materials): - Pencil
- Scissors
- Cardboard (we used an old cardboard box)
- Masking Tape
- Crepe Paper (a mix of colours!)
- 5 packs of white crepe garlands
- Glue
- Hula hoop
- Plate
- Ruler
DIY Pinata: Step 1
Trace a large circular object for the outside circle, like a hula-hoop, and a plate to trace for the inside circle. Cut out two of these shapes to form the donut.
DIY Pinata: Step 3
Layer the white crepe garlands to cover the entire piñata. We used the wrap method, like you were wrapping a bandage.
DIY Pinata: Step 4
Using the light pink crepe paper cut a circle 4cm smaller than your donut to make the icing. Cut small rectangles out of your different colour crepe paper and glue onto the piñata’s icing to create sprinkles.
DIY Pinata: Step 2
Cut out strips 10cm wide to fit around the outer and inner circles. Start by taping one of the strips along the inside circle of one of your donut shapes. Make sure you bend the cardboard to make it curve and fit before taping.
Fill your piñata with lollies and tape on the other side of the donut so the piñata is completely closed.
