Hey guys!
OMTG, I am sooo excited to share this story with you! Hehehe! That said, itโs a pretty lengthy story... and I know all you TGs are busy little bees, so I've decided to split it up into three parts which I'll post as separate blogs over the next week. That way, it should be as digestible as that delish piece of vegemite toast you ate for brekkie this morning โ YUM!
So heads up: this first part of the story isnโt exactly about cosmetics, soz. Itโs actually about something a little serious, but super important. Itโs somewhat of a teenie tangent โ a backstory, if you will. I know youโre probs thinking, โUm, what kind of beauty blog is this?!โ โ but trust me, itโs all leading somewhere pretty spesh, so stay with me! Plus Iโll throw in a cute snap of my doggo Wesley at the end of part 1 to sweeten the deal. Sound good? OK cool!
Part 1: My plastic-free mission
Iโve always been a fairly eco-conscious kind of gal; my mum raised me to care about the environment and do my bit when it came to saving the planet. But I didnโt realise how many bad habits I had picked up over the years without even thinking, espesh when it came to plastic usage. I know itโs not nice to think about, but plastic โ especially the single-use kind โ really is destroying the world we live in. Did you know that there is more microplastic in the ocean than there are stars in the Milky Way? Or that 100,000 marine creatures die every year from plastic entanglement (and thatโs just the ones that are found)? Pretty scary stuff, huh? And unforch, thatโs just the beginning :(
Itโs so easy to let yourself believe that your individual actions donโt have an impact, but when it comes to the environment, EVERYTHING has an impact. As Vincent Van Gogh once said, โGreat things are done by a series of small things brought togetherโ โ every little bit counts, TGs. And itโs never too late to start changing your habits.
So long story short: Iโm trying my best to become an eco-warrior by drastically reducing my plastic usage. I still have a looong way to go, but at least Iโm on my way to that sweet, plastic-free life. I have managed to significantly reduce the plastic in my bathroom/grooming routine (which is pretty cray for a cosmetics-loving girl like me!), and Iโm going to show you how you can do the same. There are plastic-free solutions to practically everything, you just have to go out there and find them. Iโm on a mega mission, and I would love all you planet-loving TGs out there to join me! There is strength in numbers, guys, and I truly believe that we can and WILL change the world. Whoโs with me??? Yaaass, queens! Letโs DO this.
Stay tuned for part 2! It will be up next Wednesday. Spoiler: it's SAH MUCH FUN!
Xo Laura
Oops, I almost forgot! Hereโs a snap of my boy Wez wearing his new bandana from Doggone Gorgeous. (So squee, right?!) Enjoy :)
