Hey TGs!
There are a bunch of fun films in cinemas these summer holidays, including the lovely Wish. If you've already grabbed our new February 'New Era, New You' issue then you would have seen some of the cool Disney Easter eggs we found in the movie. That wasn't all of them though - we found even more!Β
Core throwback:Β We spotted a couple of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs references, including a scene in Wish where the classic poison apple can be spotted on a table next to villain Magnifico.
Pyjama party:Β Wondering why oh why a little goat like Valentino wears PJs? Well, the team who made Wish did lots of research into the life of Walt Disney to see what inspired him. They discovered he lived on a farm as a kid and that the baby animals there were sometimes dressed up! This gave them the idea for Valentinoβs cosy look.
Pretty as a picture:Β Youβre not imagining the watercolour, storybook style of the movie. This is a nod to some of Disneyβs earliest movies, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio and Sleepy Beauty, which were made in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
Going green:Β When Magnifico decides to get into dark magic, thereβs a shift in colours and heβs surrounded by shades of green. Green is linked to lots of Disney villains, like Ursula and Maleficent, and is also the colour of deception!

Β
More quick things to spot!
- Star has a heart-shaped face like Mickey Mouse, plus uses magic dust and doesnβt talk like Tinker Bell.
- Thereβs a chipped teacup in the sink (Beauty and the Beast).
- Fireworks over the castle (Disney logo).
- Asha wearing a light blue hood and magenta bow like the Fairy Godmother (Cinderella).
- Townsfolk wishes, like flying (Peter Pan), having hair down to their feet (Rapunzel) and finding a nanny (Mary Poppins).
- In the end credits, thereβs lots of beautiful drawings from Disney movies like Tarzan and Mulan.
