DIY Birdcage bedroom decoration

What you need:

  • Birdcage
  • Two birds
  • Coloured ribbon
  • Fake wire flowers
  • Steam wire
  • Pliers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush

What to do:

  1. Paint the cage and allow to dry.
  2. Tightly wrap ribbon around the bars of the cage, alternating colours as you go. Tie a knot around the end of the bar to secure the ribbon.
  3. Weave a flower around every second bar, switching colours and mixing up the position. Decorate the top half the cage with bows and/or as an optional extra, tie a strand of lace or material around the rim of the lid.
  4. To create the bird’s ledge, measure the stem wire to fit across the cage. Trim excess wire on either end then secure the ledge with the hot glue gun. Position the birdy in the centre of the cage and glue in place if necessary.
