Snow White's Apple Delights send this to a friend

Celebrity chef Tobie Puttock shares his culinary skills for the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Disney DVD, developing the sweetest apple-themed recipes for you to make. Read the interview and check out the recipes below!

Make some of Snow White's delicious treats yourself!

The apple-themed recipes you developed look delicious! Which is your favourite?
The apple pie, for sure, because it's an old classic and my kind of food (laughs).

Was it hard coming up with apple-themed recipes? Did anyone help you develop them?
No, I did them all by myself, and I didn't find it so hard. In fact, the hardest part for me was to workout who these recipes were for, but as soon as I spoke with the gang at Disney, everything fell into place.

Who was the lucky duck that got to taste test and approve your recipes?
The photographer (laughs), and pretty much me. We basically had a 48-hour turnaround of having the recipes ready. So before I wrote the recipes, I wrote down some suggestions that I thought they might like, then the gang at Disney picked five, and I got working on them straight away! I had the recipes ready within 24 hours.

Are they easy to cook?
The recipes are all really, really simple and definitely not rocket science. I tried to write recipes that were really simple for whole families. I don't actually have children of my own, but I sort of envisioned my best friend Matt, who has a four-year-old daughter, actually being able to do these recipes. I tried to do things that didn't involve too many knives and stuff like that.

So, are you a Disney fan from way back?
Oh yeah! I've been to Disneyland in the US, I've been to the one in France three or four times... My wife and I have got pretty close to all of the movies. The old saying, where you work hard, play hard really doesn't go with me. I work hard but when I'm not working I tend to sit home and watch movies. Relaxing and animated movies often play a big part in that.

Which Disney movie is your favourite?
You know I'm going to say Snow White, for sure. But I love Fantasia as well. We watch that a lot.

And so why did you choose to be an ambassador for the release of Snow White?
Apart from really enjoying the movie, the project sounded like a lot of fun to work on. I run a restaurant in Melbourne and there's a lot of stress involved, and this was something fun to do. It felt a bit like a holiday and I've never really had to write recipes for the whole family. It was so different, and I had so much fun.
