Chasing Shea Fisher send this to a friend
Looking for Australia's own Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus? Well, look no further... twenty year old Aussie singer Shea Fisher is riding the success of her new album 'Shea' and we got the goss on her hot to trot film clip for "Don't Chase Me" and her rockin' rodeo past!

Miley Cyrus + Taylor Swift + The Veronicas = Shea Fisher!

Have you been touring a lot lately?

I have been since getting the record deal in America and the album was released March. It's been a pretty hectic schedule, with interviews and touring. It's been great. I love touring and I love doing interviews, I'm in my realm at the moment!

Your new album is out now in stores. What can we expect?

It's very young and youthful, I'm only twenty, so I don't sing about issues I haven't experienced myself. The first single "Don't Chase Me" is about a guy who is chasing a girl just to get his other possible love interest. Basically the girl says, if you don't want me and only me, don't bother chasing me, because I'm not going to be strung along in some sort of game, which is very girl-empowering!

Who do you think your music most closely resembles?

Well, it's hard, and I don't want to sound like I want to be anybody else because I love to be an individual, but I think I'm sort of like a cross between Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and The Veronicas. This album has a lot more of a pop feel.

In your "Don't chase me" film clip, I notice you have the cheerleading squad behind you. Did you ever do cheerleading?

I did actually, but here in Australia. I loved doing all the little tricks and splits and it was so much fun, The film clip was just incredible. I got to spend the week in Hollywood - I was in heaven - it's every girl's dream! I got to go shopping with the stylist for two days, and then I did the film clip with a lady named Tray who's done everybody's clips, like Taylor Swift's "Love Story". I mean heck, I got to hang out with cheerleaders and a marching band all day, so I was in heaven!

We also hear you're a champion rodeo rider. Can you tell us a bit about that?

Mum and Dad are both Australian champions in rodeo and I just grew up doing it. When I was about three years old, I entered my first barrel race, which is riding a horse. When I was nine I won my first Australian title, so it's something that I've done since I was baby. I still love horses. It's a great hobby to have, but singing's a career now.

How did you get into music biz?

To be honest, I didn't really grow up singing. I came back to Australia and started entering some talent quests and then got on the road and sought out other artists and got my own band together. It's been a whirlwind. I started writing songs when I was about thirteen!

What is your advice for aspiring singers who want to follow in your footsteps?

I think when you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you or get in your way. It's only impossible when you think it is!
